The Ghana Football Association's Normalization Committee is currently holding its Extra ordinary Congress at the College of Physicians and Surgeon Rigde- Accra.

Delegates from across various clubs are currently deliberating on the structure of the new football Association .

Opening the congress, chairman for the GFA normalization committee Dr. Kofi Amoah said that there is the need to plan for the future of the beautiful game and admonished all delegates to as a matter of urgency accept and approve the new status as Fifa has readily accepted all the contents of the new status.

Dr. Amoah also emphasized that the adoption of the new statutes will enable the process for the new elections to elect the GFA president to start with the new era.

Among the numerous statutes approved include the restoration of the 48 member division one league delegates with the long abandoned Juvenile football or what is popularly referred to as colts football restored.

Membership of the new congress will be made up of 120 delegates with RFA's getting two each and no GFA President nor his/her vice will serve for a period of more than two four terms in office with clubs agreeing  to  a 12 member board

Out of 123 Delegates present, 115 have voted YES in support of the adoption of the new GFA statutes. More than 75% required and thus Statutes has been adopted paving the way for the process of an election of a new GFA president.

The draft statutes has been adopted and congress has also adopted the election guidelines.
