The Ghana Football Association(GFA) has dismissed a petition filed by disgruntled Division One League side Tema Youth concerning what they deem unfair promotion of Accra Lions from the Division One Zone Three into the Ghana Premier League on Friday.

Among other things Tema Youth were seeking for the annulment of Accra Lion's promotion to the Ghana Premier League from Zone 3.

Promotion from the Zone Three was tight and had to be decided on head to head rule and superior goal difference as both sides finished the season on 65 points each.

Tema Youth are aggrieved that the Appeals Committee of the GFA erroneously applied articles 13 of the Division One League Regulations which talks about withdrawals of clubs from the competition.

They aver that the rule was applied differently in the cases of the withdrawal of Amidaus Professionals from the League on 7th May,2021 and Phar Rangers on 21st July,2021.

The Ghana Football Association have quashed the petition filed by disgruntled Tema Youth as baseless.

"The gravamen of your Petition is in the main Tema Youth SC as a club is unhappy with the decisions of the Appeals Committee in the two Misconduct Cases of GFA vs Amidaus Professionals DC decided on May 7, 2021 and GFA vs Phar Rangers FC decided on July 21, 2021, part of a ruling read

"That the parties in the two Misconduct Cases of the GFA vs Amidaus Professionals decided on May 7, 2021 and GFA vs Phar Rangers FC decided on July 21, 2021 are the GFA and Amidaus and GFA and Phar Rangers FC respectively and not Tema Youth.

"That the parties, GFA, Amidaus Professionals FC and Phar Rangers are the only parties cloth, with the right to appeal the decisions respectively to the (CAS) within 21 days if they were dissatisfied with the decision.

"That many decisions have been delivered by the judicial committees during the season with one or the other not agreeing with the verdict but once the appellate process is ended, there is finality to the matter.

"We believe you fought a good fight in a competitive ways - coming second on the league log by virtue of head-to-head and we can only wish you better luck next time in the coming season. We indeed applaud your effort. Thank you."

The Tema based club which is owned by the 2019 GFA Presidential aspirant Wilfred Osei  KwakuPalmer  is seeking the GFA to apply a uniform application of the law in the cases involving Amidaus Professionals and Phar Rangers.

This they believe when applied  will mean they qualify from the Division One Zone Three into the Premier League and not Accra Lions  as it is now.
