A leading candidate in the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential race Mr. Fred Pappoe on Thursday evening launched his manifesto at the new AMA office, Octagon -Accra.

The Occasion had a feminine touch as it was chaired by astute educationist Prof. Goski Alabi and the event was moderated by GH One's Nana Aba Anamoah.

It brought together football administrators from all walk of life including some former Black Stars players such as John Paintsil.

Surprisingly a leading aspiramt Kurt E.S Okraku and his #GameChanger team were present to grace the manifesto launch.

His manifesto launch hinged on ten key points that he thinks can propel the nation's football to its zenith.

  1. Governance- According to the manifesto he will prepare a medium strategic plan and also estbablish astrict compliance with accountability provisions to govern the often opaque GFA.

  2. Resource mobilization- The new GFA under Fred Pappoe's watch will liaise with the corporate industry and there will be an aggressive sponsorship drive and intensive branding of products of the FA and commercialization.

  3. Juvenile football- Grassroots football is the nucleus of our football so he will empower the regional RFA's and district football associations to form small community and also spread the tentacles of colts football leagues nationwide.

  4. District Football - There will be innovative match scheduling and the implementation of strict and timely adjudication of cases.

  5. Women's Football: Since women are in the majority and there are a lot of products with its patronage been women  there will be an aggressive targeted marketing and promotional activities for women's football and league.

  6. Officiating: It is an Achilles heels of our football and the main antagonist in the Anas documentary so there will be a guaranteed sponsorship package which will be ring fenced so as to support referees in order that they do not fall prey to unscrupulous club officials.

  7. FA/Community interface : Football clubs are formed in communities and so to get the full unflinching support of the members in the community there should be an attachment or they should feel that they own or contribute to the clubs and the game.By so doing there will be  the formation of a boys and girls juvenile clubs in various communities.

  8. National Teams: There is a perception that national team call up are biased and you will need connections before gaining call-ups. According to the manifesto there will be a fair, clear and credible call up system as well as an aggressive marketing drive to attract sponsorship for our various national teams.

  9. Coaching and allied technical support: Ghana has the worst technical department in the whole of Africa and so there will be a revamp of the technical department of the FA and there will also be periodic refresher courses for coaches and other allied technical staff.

  10. Special initiatives: There will be novelty ideas that will help improve our game one of such ideas will be the introduction of educational leagues with the university being used as a pilot basis.

With these 10 pillars Mr Fred Pappoes hopes to lay a solid foundation for the growth of our football and capture the mantle of power from the other five contestants come 25th October 2019.
