After executive meeting on Thursday July 4 2018, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has petitioned FIFA over recent football brouhaha in Ghana football.

Following the alleged corruption scandal that hit the GFA, Ghana government and FIFA have agreed to collaborate to restore the integrity of football administration in the country.

Last week, GFA officials Alex Alex Asante and Oti Akenteng joined government's delegation to meet FIFA in Zurich.

Government had earlier prevented a four-man delegation led by Lawyer Kweku Eyiah who were handpicked by FIFA to travel to Zurich as they believed it could have breached the law following a court injunction on the Ghana Football Association.

Despite the arrival of the government officials in Zurich, FIFA deemed it necessary to still involve the FA in the decision making hence handing invitations to the two (Alex Asante and Oti Akenteng).

However, a statement released Tuesday, July 4, 2018, by the Sports Ministry, revealed government and FIFA have adopted interim measures for the administration of football in Ghana.

Government started a process to the Ghana FA, following allegations of corruption by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Government set up a five-member committee, to steer the affairs of Ghana Football, but there were fears that the move could breach FIFA rules.
