President of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), Yeboah Evans, left the shores of the country for Executive Board and Council meetings of the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).

These meetings are the highest decision-making body on development, events and finance initiatives in Africa.

The Meeting which is being held in Cameroon will have all seven Executive Board Members of BCA; Michelle (Seychelles), Amin (Algeria), Evans (Ghana), Kay (Zambia), Chipo (Zimbabwe), Odette (Cameroon) and Larry (South Africa) present. These seven (7) countries members manage the sport on behalf of its 54 African badminton country membership.

Also, Moneoang (Lesotho), Honore (Ivory Coast), Simon (Uganda), Aly (Egypt), Kingsley(Botswana), Godfrey(Botswana) and Aubin (Benin) will join the Executive Board Members for the BCA Council meetings.

In a statement issued before his departure, Mr Yeboah who also doubles as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of BCA said as part of his schedules, he will meet his committee members and deliberate on the financial management of the sport towards 2020.

Mr Yeboah also doubles as the 3rd vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), added that they will also have a session with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach on Friday, November 15, 2019.

Thus strengthening the IOC President predominant love of the badminton sport in line with the Olympic movement.

Other committees expected to meet are; Women in Badminton, Marketing Committee, Development Committee, Events Committee, Administration and Remuneration Committee and Finance Committee.

He added that there will be a workshop on the new constitution of the Badminton Confederation of Africa for the members in line with modern sports management and performance.

Side attraction for the Cameroon meeting is the 2019 Cameroon Badminton International tournament which will serve as one of the Olympic qualifiers.

He is expected to return to Ghana on Monday. November 18, 2019.
