In a thrilling final match at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana secured victory over Uganda with a lone goal, lifting the 2023 African Games Men's Football tournament.

Jerry Afriyie emerged as the hero for the Black Satellites, finding the back of the net in a decisive moment on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Under the guidance of Coach Desmond Offei, Ghana displayed determination from the outset, showcasing their intention to claim Gold.

Despite an exciting display from both sides in the first half, the score remained level at halftime. Ghana had several close chances but failed to convert them into goals.

After the break, Ghana returned with renewed vigor, pressing forward relentlessly. Afriyie came agonizingly close to scoring on the hour mark, narrowly missing the target.

However, he redeemed himself in the 90th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box, breaking the deadlock and securing the win for the Black Satellites.

Following the final whistle, Ghana was awarded the Gold Medals, while Uganda received the Silver medals.

Senegal, victorious over Congo earlier in the day, claimed the Bronze medals in the tournament.
