Ghana’s Andre Ayew has been ruled out for the next two weeks after undergoing a surgery on Tuesday night at the Liv Hospital in Instabul to repair a broken finger.

The forward picked up the injury during Fenerbahce’s 2-1 defeat at Trabzonspor last weekend.

Report indicates that Dr. Erden Erturer and his team of medical experts performed fracture fixation operation on the right hand of Ayew's fourth finger.

He has started the recovery process and would likely join his teammates after two weeks having displayed an act of bravery playing through pain in their 2-1 win against Trabzonspor last Sunday.

The deputy Black Stars skipper received tons of commendation from the Turkish media for his selfless act of staying on the pitch and playing although he was injured.

Ayew go injured during the first half of that game and the medical team of the club which was led by Dr Burak immediately intervened and ruled him out not to play any further part in that game.

However, the excruciating pain from that serious injury did not stop Ayew from not playing the game as he defied the medical team’s orders not to continue.
