Ghanaian youth star Edward Sarpong has extend his stay with C.F Espereanca de Lagos by another year and will now feature in the Serie C, Campeonato de Portugal until after the  2020-21 campaign.

The Ghana Black Meteors left-back initially joined the Portuguese lower tier club on a season-long loan deal from Portimonense SC in the summer of 2019.

Following his outstanding display last season, C.F Espereanca de Lagos have offered him an improved contract and offered him to be the leader of the group due to his vast experience.

Sarpong started has youth career in Accra before travelling to Spain to continue his  development with Getafe.

The quest for first team opportunities took the left back to Portuguese side Portimonense where he spent a chunk of his time in the second tier of Portuguese football.

The 23-year old was a member of the Black Meteors team that failed to qualify for the now postponed 2020 Olympic Games slated for Tokyo Japan.
