Star Actress/ movie producer, Yvonne Nelson has said there is nothing to be happy about Ghana chalking 62 years of Independence.

According to her, the country has been unable to attain its full potential after regaining its freedom.

In an Independence day message, the 'House of Gold' actress said the people of Ghana and its leaders have failed her.

She wrote: "Happy independence day?? Are you a happy Ghanaian? So much i wanna say but maybe some other time! Theres really nothing to be happy about! Im just thankful for life! As for ghana, we the people and leaders fail her daily! We sold our country ages ago!"

Yvonne Nelson aside her acting career is a known social activists.

On May 16, 2015 Yvonne joined a host of Ghanaians to observe the ‘Dumsor Must Stop’ Vigil, a mammoth protest which she led to give a voice to the hardships that Ghanaians were going through because of the power crisis in the country, which has been christened, Dumsor.

Yvonne Nelson, with some other Ghanaians marched through the streets of the capital, starting from the University of Ghana overhead bridge.

Among celebrities who were part of the campaign were Van Vicker, Prince David Osei, Wanlov Kubolor, Efya, DKB, Barima Sidney, Afia Schwarzenegger, D-Black, Kweku Elliot and others.
