Ghana Integrity of Public Services Survey (GIPSS) latest report says nine out of 10 bribes were paid in cash in the year 2021 which is an equivalence of GHC5 billion.

According to GIPSS the bribes paid were equivalent to almost one-third of the 2021 budget of the Ministry of Education, a situation which is very alarming.

The head of pricing at the Ghana Statistical Service, Kwaben Adjaho speaking with Kessben FM’s Kwame Appiah Kubi on Maakye stated the survey represents the reality behind the corruption perception in Ghana.

He stressed on something quite obvious in the public service noting that most men in Ghana in the public service sector turn to ask for sex from women who they engage with in their official line of duty.

According to him, women who are in public service do not ask for sex as bribes but are much more interested in taking physical cash or through mobile money.
