A family living in the UK has been linked to Ghanaian royalty,after some documents revealing a family history was discovered.

Promise Adamah's history, according to a BBC report, has led to an exhibition at the Black Cultural Archives in London.

Promise Adamah was born in Ghana but moved the UK in 1963.

"I knew we were from a royal family,"the East Londoner said in short interview.

"Grandmother used to tell us stories most of them I cant remember."

She visited Ghana in 2013 and was handed cache of documents during the trip to by her aunte.

They revealed a lot of previously unknown information about her family, which led to an exhibition at the Black Cultural Archives in London.

The exhibition presented the British-Ghanaian family’s discovery of their royal lineage and rich heritage
