Ghanaians Can Return to Thailand: Tourists Finally Accepted
23rd June 2022
The COVID-19 pandemic shattered travel dreams and nearly buried the tourism industry in most parts of the world. However, after an agonizingly long wait, the contemptuous tide is receding in all major world tourist destinations. More so in Thailand where the beautiful scenery is now even more welcoming to the adventurous Ghanian travelers. It is an opportune time for travelers who want to immerse themselves in Thai culture. There are many new incentives for tourism post-Covid. Thailand will no longer require people from other countries to take a COVID-19 test for entry. This is regardless of their vaccine status and began May 1, 2022.
It is now much easier for visitors to visit the beautiful beaches of Phuket or venture into the vibrant streets of Bangkok. If you are one of the thousands of Ghanaians planning to take advantage of the 90-day visa, it is time to rekindle your wanderlust. It is even better for those contemplating long term stay in the alluring country.
Thailand's Re-Opening Strategies
Thailand had been inaccessible for a long time during the outbreak of the pandemic. However, the country has been slowly loosening travel restrictions, allowing some groups of visitors in. It began accepting fully-vaccinated travelers in 2021. In February 2022, the country relaxed the restrictions even further, allowing fully-vaxxed visitors without a quarantine period. It was still a little confusing and caused many travelers to pick different destinations.
The most recent rule change is a huge relief. Travelers who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to apply for entry under the Test & Go scheme. When applying for a visa, foreigners are only required to show their vaccination certificates and proof of insurance. Thai citizens will only require a vaccination certificate.
Travelers who have not been immunized will have two options. The first option requires them to undergo a PCR test 72 hours prior to entering the country. Alternatively, they can quarantine in an approved hotel for at least five days before taking the PCR test on the final day. All other requirements for entry into Thailand, such as a visa and passport, remain unchanged.
Enjoying Thailand
Including Thailand on your vacation bucket list is always a great idea. The land's calming weather is exactly what you need after the agonizing two years of being tethered at home. However, in order to fully enjoy your stay, you should learn a little bit about the country.
It is nearly impossible to pick the best places in Thailand because there’s no end to what’s available. The country is strewn with breathtaking scenery, the majority of which could be on a list of ‘not to miss sites’. However, depending on your tastes and preferences, make a point of visiting one or more of the following:
- Bangkok - Nothing says "welcome" like Thailand's capital. This fast-growing city is home to incredible temples and palaces, as well as approximately 8 million fun-loving people.
- Chiang Mai - It has ancient structures, tropical forests, and the greatest number of active Buddhist temples.
- Ayutthaya - This ancient city houses some unique pieces of Thailand's history.
- Koh Samui - It has some of the best beaches for sunbathing and wonderful scuba diving.
- Phuket - This island has some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Its spiritual significance will astound you as well.
Thailand, the Land of Opportunities
Thailand's wonderful tourism experience will make you tingle with delight. However, the country is more than just a happy spring. Thailand is also one of the best countries for immigrant workers. The country had a low unemployment rate of 1.02 percent in 2020. In 2022, the figure has not changed significantly, but it is steadily improving. If you are interested in extending your stay, you can take advantage of the numerous job opportunities available. Especially those in online spaces and alternative job markets.
People from other countries work in a variety of industries in Thailand. Many Ghanaian immigrants are working in Thailand. They have discovered excellent opportunities that support their professional development and financial success. Thaibets365.com recently published a post looking for English sports betting writers. You can apply for the job, and if you are qualified, it could be the start of your online freelancing career in casino work in Thailand. The gaming industry is rapidly expanding, several other sports betting companies also have a high demand for excellent freelance writers. In general, there are numerous remote job opportunities for English speakers in the online gaming industry.
However, the internet, like the traditional job market, is flooded with numerous other opportunities. Looking for the most recent job postings will help you find work as a freelancer, marketer, or website/app developer, among other viable occupations.
Overall, the recent relaxation of travel restrictions to Thailand presents an excellent opportunity to seek adventure, jobs, and other goodies. It is time to explore and experience this wonderful country firsthand.
