Ghana's group opponents at the 2022 FIFA World  Cup, South Korea will play friendly matches  as they prepare for the Qatar-2022 World Cup in June.

They will play against Brazil, Chile and Paraguay, in friendly matches as announced by the  Asian country's soccer federation on Wednesday.

The South Korean team, captained by Tottenham player Son Heung Min, will face Brazil on June 2 in Seoul, before facing Chile and Paraguay on June 6 and 10.

This series of friendlies with South American teams will give South Korea a "good opportunity to assess its strengths and weaknesses," the federation said in a statement.

South Korea is ranked 29th in the FIFA rankings and is participating in its 10th World Cup in a row after finishing second behind Iran in Group A in the final round of Asian qualifying.

The South Korean team will play Portugal, Uruguay and Ghana in Group H at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November.

South Korea has only made it out of the group stage twice.

Their best result is having reached the semifinals in the 2002 World Cup, which they co-hosted with Japan and also reaching the second round in South Africa 2010.

This year, the team is confident that captain Son, who has scored 19 goals in the 2021-22 Premier League season, will lead the way to the last 16.
