GIPC Chief Executive Officer Yofi Grant calls on Ghanaian clubs to adopt E-Ticketing
25th February 2020
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Investment Promotion Center Yofi Grant has advised Hearts and Kotoko to embark on seasonal tickets to enable them grow financially.
The multiple award-winning administrator urged the two biggest clubs to go digital and boost their financial gains.
Speaking on the current trend of administration in Association football, Mr Grant highlighted the need for proactive measures to catch up with the modern market.
"Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko SC are arguably the biggest teams in Ghana. They need to create season tickets so that someone will say, I am watching every match of theirs. So am buying Ghc10,000, 20,000 or 50, 000 whatever it, right there that is a marketing opportunity to invest in the club".
"If I were a manager of Hearts of You Oak or Asante Kotoko, I will sit down and plan to say in a year, my turn over should be Hundred million cedi, and if my turn over can be hundred million cedi, how much did I need to spend on my players? What is the revenue assurance model? How many matches do we have to play, what do we need to invest, how much can we get out of it. That is what they do in Europe", Yofi argued.
He concluded by urging the nation's big wigs to feast on the market and make it that big.
"For all these years, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko don't have the season tickets initiative. So if they are able to take up this opportunity, it will help them to grow financially".
