Ashgold coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor and Liberty Professionals head coach Micheal Osei will be announced as the new handlers of Ghana U-23 team, Ghanaguardian.com reports.

It is an open secret that following the failure of Malik Jabir to qualify the Black Meteors to the 2016 Brazil summer Olympics he will be kick out as the head coach, the U-23 remains the only less fancied national side under the Nyantakyi-led administration that have failed to make it to any world competition since 2004.

The Ex- Hearts of Oak boss, Akunnor who has tremendously turn the unfortunate fortunes at Len Clay after lifting AshantiGold from the GhPL relegation zone will be appointed as the new U-23 head coach and will be assisted by former Asante Kotoko trainer, Micheal Micky Osei, Ghanaguardian.com reliable source can revealed.

A top official, who pleaded anonymity, told Ghanaguardian.com that there will be a change in the technical directorship of the Black Meteors as they have failed to qualify for the tournament since Athens 2004.

"We all expected Malik Jabir to qualify the team to the 2016 summer olympics but he couldn't reach our exceptions, the Olympic team has failed to qualify for world tournament since 2004.

"New handlers should be given the nod, coaches like C.K Akunnor and Micheal Osei are young managers who are doing well in the local scene and I believe they are capable of bringing Ghana's Olympic football team to the limelight." He told Ghanaguardian.com sports.

So in order to avoid any vacuum, the GFA will promptly appoint C.K and Osei to embark on what many have called a rescue mission for Black Meteors.

Indeed, the whole story remains primarily based on nameless sources and leaked comments, with no evidence provided.
