Ghana Government has announced the lifting of the ban on contact sports, prompting the return of the football in the country, beginning October 30th.

President Akufo-Addo, at his 18th update on the Coronavirus in the country, said Stadiums will be allowed to take only 25% full with the compulsory wearing of nose mask.

“Fellow Ghanaians, with respect to football, after due consultation with the Ghana Football Association, it has been decided that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Football League will restart on Friday, 30th of October with a few regimes of testing of the players, technical and management staff, the president said on Sunday in a live telecast address.

"No spectators will be allowed at the training centres and when actual competition resumes, sitting at all stadia will be limited to 25% capacity.”

The lift of the restrictions comes after five months of suspension due to the Coronavirus pandemic that hit the world.

It forced the FA to cancel the 2019/2020 league season which had gathered momentum.
