Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum, Dr Mohammed Anim Adam, has commended the Incubation Hub of Kosmos Innovation Centre (KIC) for contributing to the growth of Ghana’s economy.

KIC trains students and entrepreneurs through its Incubation Hub to see opportunities that others miss, giving them the confidence to view themselves as entrepreneurs not employees and job creators instead of job seekers.

Dr Adam urged beneficiaries of the programme to pass on their knowledge to others. He believes this will significantly contribute to the growth of the economy.

He further noted that the aims of the Center were in line with government initiatives such as  Youth in Farming, Youth in Entrepreneurship and Planting for Food and Jobs.

“The choice of agriculture is strategic but also falls in line with our plans as a government,” Dr Adam said.

Dr Adam made the comments in a keynote address at the inauguration ceremony of the Incubation Hub on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

“I have no doubt that the many people the centre is turning out are going to take strategic positions in the agric space of our country and help in revolutionizing and modernising our agriculture to contribute to the growth of our economy,” the deputy minister said.

The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) was established in Ghana in 2016 in with programs focused on inspiring and empowering young entrepreneurs to drive change in their own country.

More than 400 aspiring entrepreneurs have participated in KIC Ghana programs, resulting in the creation of 13 start-ups that have secured seed funding, additional business training, and capital investment.

The Hub serves as a workspace for these startups and consists; offices and relaxation areas.
