Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports have relaxed the COVID-19 restrictions barring football fans from attending matches.

The Ministry has through a statement released on Friday evening announced that with immediate effect football fans can now attend matches both domestic and International.

But the stadium capacity has been limited to just 25% for now.

The 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season began with teams playing behind closed doors but it was later relaxed with fans being admitted.

When the second wave of COVID-19 kicked in, the government was forced to impose the restrictions by banning spectators from attending football matches.

The ban has now been lifted with immediate effect as clubs have been feeling under the huge financial hit they have taken throughout this period.

The government has directed the Ghana Football Association to ensure that clubs adhere to the various COVID-19 protocols.
