Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are billed for a meeting with the US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson over the supposed deportation of some 7,000 Ghanaians.

The meeting is expected to find a middle-ground in the impasse between the two States.

The US has cautioned it’ll be forced to begin implementing visa restrictions in accordance with its laws as a responsibility owed the American people, if the government of Ghana continuously refuse to release travel documents for some 7000 illegal migrants in the US.

The seeming delay on the side of the Ghana government is creating tension between the two countries.

The US Ambassador,  Robert Jackson has said  although he’s open for further talks on the issue, the Ghanaian government must be seen taking action on the subject.

“I’m open to more dialogue but I want action. I want to encourage action and put this problem behind us,” he said early on in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM
