Journalist and radio presenter, Nana Kwabena Bobie-Ansah has said government officials will have to leave the country to have their peace when the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) takes over power, should the government continue to harass its opponents.

According to him, if the status quo remains, current government officials will be subjected to the same persecution when they go into opposition.

Nana Kwabena Bobie-Ansah who has not hidden his support for the opposition NDC party was picked up by National Security Operatives after they inspected his house on Thursday on suspicion that he had some state properties in his possession.

He was taken to the Osu Castle for interrogation where he was later informed that the car he drives belongs to the state hence it was seized. The security operatives subsequently informed him that he’ll be called back at an appropriate time.

Nana Kwabena Bobie-Ansah joins the list of several NDC members including National Organizer, Kofi Adams and former Presidential Staffer Elvis Afriyie Ankrah who have been subjected to the same unpleasant experience.

Speaking on Kasapa News, the tough-talking presenter stated that he was unfairly treated as he was not even allowed to write a statement when he was taken to the police station, prior to him being sent to the Castle.

“I was even in my boxer pants when these security operatives stormed my home in a Rambo style and they wouldn’t let their hands go of me. I was held at my waist and lifted up with my legs hanging. They were so abrasive and were bent on doing whatever they wanted, without giving me a hearing.”

He however said he would not waste his time taking legal action on the matter, saying the president and his officials will answer for any action they take today in the future.
If President Akufo Addo and his people think what they are doing is right, they should continue…but they should bear it in mind that their circumstance will change, they will not be in power forever. If they don’t take care and there’s a change in government they may not be able to stay in Ghana and will have to seek refuge abroad so they can have their peace of mind. Because those who have suffered under them will also come at them when they also have power.”

He continued: “I just can’t understand the treatment meted out to me. There are many Journalist in Ghana using V8 Landcruiser vehicles, they should ask Kwami Sefa Kayi and Kweku Baako where they got their cars from. Why is it that these people I’ve mentioned have not been questioned. At the age of 28 years I bought an Infinity vehicle so why can’t I buy a V8 vehicle now,” Bobi Ansah said.
