King Faisal will host Karela United on Match Day 13 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday. The home side dropped to third after losing 2-0 to Eleven Wonders last weekend – falling three points behind leaders Asante Kotoko who sit at the top of the table with 26 points.

Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side are unbeaten at home but unconvincing results on the road has been their biggest problem in their title hunt, winning two, drawing one and losing three.

King Faisal started the season in a blistering manner by picking three wins on the spin (1-0 against WAFA, 3-1 against Aduana and 2-0 over AshantiGold) until they fumbled against Berekum Chelsea in a 1-0 loss at the Golden City Park on Match Day 4.

The Insha Allah boys have built a strong reputation for themselves this season having scored 16 and conceded 10 across competitions.

Zubairu Ibrahim, Mawuli Wayo and Franklin Osei and Enock Morison have displayed tenacity and character in the campaign despite joining the club from lower tier sides ahead of the season. Their effort, complimented by the experience of Osman Ibrahim, sums up a very impressive campaign in the Premier League thus far as they hold a seven point advantage over their opponents heading into this fixture.

Karela United may not have been overly impressive in the League especially on the road but their quality and brilliance cannot be taken for granted.  Captain Umar Bashiru has led by example by putting in some amazing performances and scoring important goals for the club in this campaign and his output on Friday would have a telling effect on the outcome of the game.

The Club has not won a single match in six away duels having lost five and drawn once on the road against Great Olympics. But their quality is simply enormous.

Karela United are 7th in the League standings with 14 points and head into the math in search of their first away win in the League.

This fixture, scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi will be live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247.
