GPL: Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu frustrated by home struggles
7th March 2026
Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Yaw Owusu, has voiced his frustration over the club’s recent struggles to secure victories at home, admitting the situation has been difficult for both the team and its supporters.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw by a 10-man Vision FC in their Matchday 24 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium, a result that left many fans disappointed.
Speaking ahead of Kotoko’s Matchday 25 encounter against Karela United F.C., Owusu said the inability to secure wins in Kumasi has been a worrying concern.
“It’s not easy at all. A lot of thinking about what’s going on, what is happening, why Kumasi, all those things cross my mind,” he told the club’s media.
“It hurts a lot because my fans are also in Kumasi, and this is where we have to satisfy them, and it’s not happening. It’s very difficult for us,” he added.
Kotoko will be hoping to bounce back when they face Karela United in their next league assignment in the Ghana Premier League.
The match will be played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
