The Black Stars of Ghana shared the spoils with Central African Republic in the second group game of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers game played at the 11th November Stadium in Luanda-Angola.

Ghana took the lead but a lapse in the middle of midfield allowed the minnows the equalizer in a gritty contest.

Joseph Paintsil had a good chance but slipped in the penalty box after going round some legs in the box as the chances was cleared in the 15th  minute.

Kudus Mohammed scored a nice goal for Ghana in the 17th minute after some inter play between Felix Afena-Gyan and Osman Bukari.

The Ajax midfielder curled home a shot from the edge of the penalty box to give Ghana a deserving 1-0 lead.

Andy Yiadom effected a throw in before Kudus flicked the ball nonchalantly to Afena Gyan who exchanged a pass with Osman Bukari who laid it off for Kudus to curl home into the bottom corner.

Afena Gyan was cynically brought down in the 22nd minute by the CAR captain Peter Guirani as Ghana was progressing the ball from the own area which resulted in the game first yellow card.

On the half hour mark Gideon Mensah fluffed a nicely weighted cross into his path from Kudus Mohammed after anice Ghana move from midfield.

The host caused some chaos in the Ghana box but the first time it was cleared by Amartey before they came again but it was gathered by goalkeeper Ati Zigi.

Karl Nnamganda leveled the scores for CAR after the host won the ball from a lethargic Ghana midfield, he was cleanly played through on goal before he arrowed home beyond the dive of Lawrence Ati Zigi in the 41st minute to make it 1-1.

In the 44th minute Andy Yiadom was pulled down by a CAR defender as he chased down a long ball but the referee was not interested with some half hearted appeals for a penalty waved away.

Three mins after restart the host nearly profited from an indiscretion in the Ghana backline but it was  wasted

There was a nasty clash of heads between Jonathan Mensah and Peter Guirani captain of CAR but Mensah came out the worst off and was carried to the hospital in an ambulance later on.

Gideon Mensah's back pass in the 71st minute nearly caused havoc as Ati Zigi had to rush out to clear the danger with the CAR attacker bearing down on goal.

In the 80th minute Kudus Mohammed sent a free kick wide from the edge of the penalty box.

Kudu Mohammed had a fine chance to have won the game for Ghana in the 90th minute but sent his wild shot wide.

Five minutes of additional time was added after that lengthy treatment for the clash of heads but Ghana sent hopeful balls into the penalty area as they piled the pressure but could not get the winner.
