The National Democratic Congress is launching its campaign to retain the Tamale South Constituency seat in Tamale today.

The seat is currently being held by Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, who is contesting unopposed.

He won the Tamale South seat in 2004, 2008 and 2014 and has expressed the hope that he will retain the seat and increase the vote margin from 56,000 to 70,000 this year.

He asked members of the NDC not to be complacent but continue to work hard to achieve victory for the party.

Mr Iddrisu described the Tamale South seat as one of the 10 reliable seats for the NDC in terms of  the huge numbers the constituency garnered for President Mahama.

The launch is expected to be attended by some bigwigs of the party.
