Bechem United produced a five star performance to beat title chasing Hearts of Oak 3-1 to condemn them to seven games without a win and almost certainly see their title challenge blown into thin air.

Under fire Hearts of Oak coach Sergio Traquil named experienced Soulama Abdoulaye on the bench deciding to go with Samuel Akrugu but that did little to affect the outcome of the game.

It took Abednego Tetteh only 18 minutes to open the scoring after some really school boy defending allowed the home side to pick up the ball and plant it into the back of the net.

One should have been two in the space of two minutes after Samuel Akrugu was called into action by the host the ball wet into the side netting.

Samuel Yeboah who has scored goals all his life had an opportunity to pull his side back into it but his shot was low and lacked accuracy.

That miss was made more significant after Abednego made it two a minute into the second half.

That was the trend until the 80th minute when Abednego Tetteh got his hat-trick with a sublime finish to ensure three points and painfully all but end Hearts of Oak’s title challenge.

That was not the final action as skipper on the day Owusu Bempah scored a late face saving goal for the away side.

The three points will be massive for Bechem who are desperate to avoid going down while Hearts of Oak will all but give up on their title challenge.

The win moves Bechem United to 10th on the League table with 34 points while Hearts of Oak have dropped into 4th with 42 points and six points behind league leaders Wa All Stars who won against Dreams FC.
