Chinese technology major Huawei will launch its true wireless earbuds, the FreeBuds Pro, in its home market on September 10, as per a report by GizmoChina. The company also plans to unveil its other smart products -- the Huawei GT series smartwatch and Huawei Fit -- on the same day.

Prior to the announcement, some details about the upcoming true wireless earbuds got leaked via Weibo. As per the leaks, the earbuds are codenamed “Mermaid” internally and will have noise-canceling features. The “Pro” in the moniker hints at some of the advanced features Huawei may bundle into the TWS earbuds. The FreeBuds Pro would continue in the FreeBuds series of earbuds that has Freebuds 3 and Freebuds 3i earbuds. After 3 and 3i, Huawei has changed the name to Pro, ditching the numbers.

In July, Huawei launched the Freebuds 3i true wireless earbuds in India at Rs 9,990. The Huawei Freebuds 3i wireless earbuds come with triple-mic call noise reduction which has two outward-facing mics and one inward-facing mic. While the outward-facing mic is said to detect ambient noise to counter with anti-noise, the inward-facing mic is said to pick up the other noises in the ears for further cancellation and is claimed to lower the background noise by up to 32dB.

These earbuds house 10mm drivers and offer easy connectivity options by simply opening the charging case. They come with an IPX4 rating making them water-resistant. These also come with built-in capacitive sensors on both sides, enabling touch-based gesture support. For instance, a long tap turns the Active Noise Cancellation on or off and double-tap plays or pauses the music and answers or ends a call.
