Callum Hudson-Odoi's recovery from an injury he sustained has been hailed as good news for most Chelsea fans but in reality it may not be so for the 21 year captain of the US men's national team Christian Pulisic who was signed from Dortmund in the summer for 58 million pounds.

The American winger who cut short his summer break in order to be fit for the season has endured a difficult time with the blues been snubbed for the past three matches an only making a cameo appearance against Southampton at the Saint Mary's.

Hudson-Odoi returned from a serious injury suffered in April and has since made his impact felt in matches against Lille in the Champions league where he provided the assist for Willian's goal and in his first competitive start in the premier league gave the assist to Tammy Abraham to open the scores for the Blues at the St Mary's.

Pulisic’s early struggles at Chelsea have emerged as one of the more intriguing storylines at the start of the Frank Lampard era. There have been flashes from the £58m signing from Borussia Dortmund, an assist in the win against Norwich in August, a bright display in the Super Cup against Liverpool, but the 21-year-old has been frozen out in recent weeks.

His only appearance since the start of September came in the Carabao Cup win against League Two’s Grimsby Town last week and his cameo appearance at the St Marys against Southampton but he did not even merit a place on the bench against Lille.

With Hudson-Odoi return from injury the American must start showing the blues boss why he needs to start instead of that fleeting brilliance shown thus far else he may be seeking a loan move very soon as is been reportsed by some media outlets.
