A hunter has reportedly met his untimely death at Femeso in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region in what could be described as a hunting expedition gone wrong.

The 26-year-old man was allegedly gunned down by his colleague who mistook him for a healthy grasscutter

According to the report, a resident of the village, Bright Bankas, has confirmed the incident.

Narrating how it happened, Bankas revealed that the deceased, Kwabenya Simon, went to the forest with the suspect, Yaw Brenya, in search of game.

Upon arrival in the forest, they took different routes with an agreement to meet at a point after their hunting.

Not long after, Brenya claims to have heard a strange noise and swiftly fired his gun.

He said he thought the sound was that of a grasscutter but when he rushed to the scene, he realised it was his friend who had been on the spot easing himself.

The suspect rushed Kwabenya to the Fumso Government Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He has since been arrested and reported to be in police custody assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man, Yaw Mensah, has allegedly murdered his wife, Adwoa Frimpongmaa, in their rented apartment after he suspected her of having an extramarital affair.

According to the report, a co-tenant alerted the landlord of the house after noticing blood stains in the doorway of the deceased.

The six, according to reports, met the unfortunate fate at about 1am on Friday dawn following a heavy downpour the previous night.

Tthe family were trying to cross the Ankonim river which had overflowed its banks and blocked the only access to residential areas.
