The General Secretary of the NDC says he "pities" the vice presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana is doing "all the donkey work" in the NPP just to protect his position.

The NPP vice presidential candidate has incurred the wrath of members of the ruling party after he urged northerners to vote out the NDC to regain their lost dignity due to what he says is the incompetence of the John Mahama-led NDC administration.

Dr. Bawumia maintained that, the only way to save the little integrity left for northerners is by voting against the NDC in the December 7 polls.

But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Mr. Asiedu Nketia accused Dr. Bawumia of desecrating the party his father supported.

He claimed that, Dr. Bawumia’s late father, Alhaji Bawumia was a stalwart of the NDC and even rose through the ranks to become the "chairman of the Council of Elders" of the NDC.

Alhaji Bawumia was chairman of the Council of State.
This notwithstanding, the NDC scribe claimed he has never stopped praying for Dr. Bawumia because “he is my brother”.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called noted that, the NPP as a political party "believes in a class society" and will thus dump Dr. Bawumia "just as they did to the late former vice president Aliu Mahama."

Asiedu Nketia is predicting Dr. Bawumia will be relegated to the background in the next flagbearership contest of the NPP.
