New AC Monza signing Kevin Prince Boateng says his decision to join the lower tier side was swayed by the influence of club owner Silvio Berlusconi and the club's director Adriano Galliani.

The well traveled Ghanaian International joined the newly promoted Serie B side on Wednesday after penning a one year deal with an option for another year.

Boateng was officially unveiled to the press and supporters of the club on Wednesday.

"I couldn't say no to Berlusconi and Galliani,” Boateng said at his unveiling.

AC Monza is owned by former AC Milan President, Silvio Berlusconi and with  Adriano Galliani a director of the club and Boateng know the two very well from his two stints with Milan.

He played at AC Milan for three seasons and then returned for a second spell in January 2016 for six months, where he was coached then by Cristian Brocchi, who now is coach of  Monza.

The journeyman will be playing for his 13th different club at Monza.

Boateng who started his football with Eintracht Frankfurt has gone on to play for the likes of  Portsmouth, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona, Fiorentina,Borussia Dortmund,Tottenham Hotspur ,Besiktas among others.

He has 15 caps for the Black Stars and featured for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments.
