Head coach of the Black Stars Milovan Rajevac says that he had sleepless nights when the Black Stars had to play against Zimbabwe in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Serbian gaffer took charge of the Black Stars coaching job last month for his second stint after C.K Akonnor was sacked following a string of poor performances in the opening games against South Africa and Ethiopia.

Within weeks of taking over the Black Stars he had to prepare the team to face the warriors of Zimbabwe with 48 hours separating the two fixtures at Cape Coast Stadium and the National Stadium in Harare.

Speaking in an interview with the GFA communications team, the Serbian revealed that it was a relief to him that his team won all the two matches but confessed that he did not sleep within the 48hours leading to the two games

He was asked his reflections 48 hours after the games against Zimbabwe:

"Yeah definitely it was a relief because we managed to achieve our target. The last few weeks were very hard, I didn’t sleep well because there were too many things to be done and after that period, now it is a relief so we can focus on our next challenge."
