Dreams FC defender Abdul Bashiru has stated that he believes he is best suited to win the awards he has been categorised under in the upcoming PLB Awards.

Speaking on Ashh FM’s “Super Sports” show, the hard tackling defender said he is positive of his chances of winning the awards for which he has been nominated judging by how hard he worked last season.

He admitted that everybody else on the list in the best defender category is “equally good” but insisted he is the number one contender for the award.

“Everybody on the list is equally good but I believe that as far as best defender is concerned I am in no competition with anyone, it is my award”

He was quick to emphasise that he will accept it and will not be discouraged if the award does not come his way.

“If the award comes my way I will be happy but if does not come my way I will accept and will continue to work hard towards it”

He believes that being nominated in those two categories was by dint of hardwork.

On the morale in camp following Dreams FC’s demotion to the Division One league, Bashiru said the morale in camp was not low because the team joined the top flight league from Division One and will work hard to return to the premier league.

“Our morale is not low because the decision taken to send the team to Division One was taken in good faith and God willing we will continue with our good works in the lower league since because we were there before we joined the premier league. We will work hard and return to the premier league” he said
