Former AIDS Ambassador Joyce Dzidzor Mensah has revealed that, as working as the ambassador for the Ghana AIDS Commission was only earning an amount of GHC 800.

According to her, she is even owed by the commission following the fact that she had her face on the televisions and billboards throughout the country and that was not an GHC800 work.

She said,  “I wasn’t a salary worker for them, I think they are still owing me, because if you look at what I`ve done, the adverts, the billboards, is not GHC 800 job”.

According to her, she had agreed to work for the said amount (GHC 800) due to the fact that she loved the job offer although she had proposed to take an amount of GHC 3,000.

“They asked me how much I wanted to be paid and I told them at least GHC3000 a month, and they said they can’t afford the GHC3000, so they bargain to GHC800, but I said for the love of the job I will do it”

The actress and former AIDS Ambassador had signed a five year contract with the commission although the contract went of the table only after a year, an act she added was due to her love for music.

“They terminated my contract because of my love for music”, she said.

She had claimed she was an HIV positive and had taken the contract to educate AIDS patients throughout the country on how to manage and also prevent the disease.

She also added that, after taken the contract, she was seen as many to be very wealthy although in reality, she was not a salary earner.
