Newly appointed head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum is delighted to have been named the coach of the Ghana Premier League giants.

He will be the coach of the club for the next two years after signing a contract to replace Portuguese trainer Mariano Barreto.

The Kumasi based club had been in talks for some time with the University of Cape Coast lecturer after mutually parting ways with 'loud mouth' Portuguese trainer Barreto.

Prosper Nartey Ogum who was in charge of WAFA last season helped them to their highest ever finish by placing third in the Ghana Premier League.

The new Kotoko trainer took to his Twitter handle to post a message to the club hierarchy and fans promising to make the club the best.

"I am awfully grateful for this opportunity to serve such a great club Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Thanks to HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board, Management and Supporters for reposing trust in me," wrote on his page.

"I will do my best to make Kotoko the best club in Ghana, Africa and the world." Dr. Ogum added.
