Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has thrown his support behind Black Stars coach Otto Addo, urging stakeholders to give him more time to address his shortcomings despite growing calls for his dismissal.

Speaking to 3Sports, Sannie Daara highlighted Addo's pivotal role in guiding Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, asserting that his track record proves his capability as a coach.

“Otto Addo has proven on multiple occasions that he can do the job. These are some of the shortcomings he will have to deal with.

There are things he needs to learn about the African terrain. Sometimes you don’t have to go the hard way,” Sannie Daara said.

He acknowledged the criticisms leveled against Addo following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a significant disappointment for the nation.

However, Sannie Daara believes Addo’s accomplishments, particularly in the World Cup qualifiers, deserve recognition and patience.

“When we needed him the most in the World Cup qualifiers, he came in for us and took us to the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” he noted.

As discussions over Addo's future intensify, Sannie Daara’s remarks offer a perspective that emphasizes continuity and the coach's potential to adapt to the complexities of African football, urging stakeholders to support him as he works on addressing these challenges.
