The Ghana Police Service has transferred 38 senior police officers two months ahead of the December polls.

IGP John Kudalor made 29 changes in November 2015, 61, 80  and 90 in January, May and August, 2016 respectively; making a total of 298 changes in one year.

With the latest changes, the Ministries Commander in Accra, ACP Tiwaa Addo Danquah has been moved to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS) as the second in command.

She was recently moved from the Police Staff College in Winneba to the Ministries Division some months ago.

In other related transfers, Chief Superintendent Akwasi Kankam-Boadu who was the Donkorkrom Divisional Police Commander has been transferred to the Half Assini Divisonal Command in the Western Region.

Chief Superintendent Cephas Kwofie of the Amasaman Division has been sent to Donkorkrom to Head the division.

Donkorkrom and some surrounding towns were hit with violence after some residents in the Afram Plains South district clashed with police officers destroying some police properties.

The statement which announced the transfers signed by the IGP also moved ASP Kwesi Boakye, a district commander for Anloga, to head the Kukuom district Police command.

This comes on a back of recent clashes at the Kukuom area between members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who accused each other of manipulating the voter transfer exercise in the constituency for their gain.
