Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu says that he is focused at Southampton and  very happy at the club.

The Ghana 'rebel' started the English Premier League season in blistering fashion and produced a virtuoso performance against Manchester City  in their 1-1   drawn game.

Despite a drop in form in recent games, the Ghanaian has been linked with moves away from the club but he  says  that he is focused on helping the saints return to winning ways  and having a better finish in the league.

The Ghanaian is currently under contract until 2024 but the club is keen to extend his  deal as  talks have been  initiated with  the  player's representatives.

“I'm focusing on here. I'm trying to work hard, I need to focus on here now and the future is the future. It's going to come but now I'm really focused on here," Salisu told the Daily Echo.

He also said, "We want to finish in a good place so we have to work hard every day and fight for every game to make sure we can. "It's been nine games and we've only had one win. I think the fans are expecting to win this Saturday, so we're going to give our best and fight for everything to get what we want."
