Ghana has been dealt a major blow as young talented midfielder Kudus Mohammed may miss out of the double friendly matches to be played next week against Mali and Qatar in Turkey.

The Ghanaian midfielder sustained an injury on Thursday while training with his teammates and is a doubt for Ajax's league game this weekend.

Kudus was named in the 23 man squad list announced by coach C.K Akonnor last Friday but has been forced to drop out due to injury concerns.

Ghana will play against Mali on 9th October 2020 in Antalya in Turkey before facing Qatar three days later.

"Although we have also seen Mohammed Kudus at work in his position. However, he dropped out during training and is now not fit for competition”, Coach of Ajax Erik Ten Hag has revealed.

The GFA will have to liaise with Ajax to know the extent of the injury and whether he will be fit to play in the friendlies.

He is the third player from the 23 man squad named by coach C.K Akonnor to have picked up an injury after Jeffrey Schlupp and Alexander Djiku all sustained injuries last weekend.

They are all expected to be fit before the friendly but as to whether their clubs will risk them for the friendly is another question.
