Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has counseled players who are still active to put their money into investments instead of dissipating it on wanton luxury.

Most players earn a lot of money while actively playing football but end up wasting the monies on flashy cars and fanciful buildings.

Kwesi Appiah who coached Ghana in two stints has in the past confirmed that he is no longer interested in football but is leaving a comfortable life due to the prudent financial investments and business portfolios he has.

According to the former gaffer, players should invest their monies in ventures that will give them some returns instead of buying liabilities like luxury cars and mansions.

“When we were in camp I was advising the young ones," he told Betty Yawson of Starr FM.

“It is important that as they are playing they should not make the mistakes that a lot of footballers make," he added.

“It is important that they try to put up some investment now instead of buying cars and buildings.

“If they can do this they will live forever in happiness."

C.K Akonnor replaced Kwesi Appiah as Black Stars coach in January after the expiration of his contract with the GFA.
