Is Manasseh from a different breed of Northerners? — Ibrahim Irbard quizzes
28th June 2019
In the Ghanaian society, the youngsters are brought up to respect the elderly. Even in the old days, a man could punish a child who actually is not his own for a wrong thing done. So what went wrong, for the young ones to be able to insult the elderly? Is it that the oldies do not also respect themselves or we just need a relook at our culture in general?.
Security analyst, Ibrahim Irbard has been asking questions wanting to know if indeed Joynews' investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni is a true son from a Nothern land.
His comment comes after the latter in his recent article, slammed the President of Ghana, Nana Akufu-Addo and termed him an “idiot” for funding the much-touted Free SHS policy from the state coffers.
“I wrote an article in which I said any idiot could use our money to build infrastructure and boast about that. I did not see what Mahama had done as exceptional. In the same way, any idiot can use our money to pay school fees for SHS students. One does not need to be a genius to do that”, he wrote in portions of his article.
But Ibrahim Irbard reacting to the issue questioned if indeed Manasseh is a Northerner.
“Are we sure Manasseh Azure Awuni is a Northerner?”, he asked.
According to Irbard, the Northerners are trained and brought up in a way that it makes it difficult for the youngster to raise his voice on the elderly.
“One thing stands out in the north, the young are courteous to the elderly and they are mindful of their choice of words when they address the elderly”, he affirmed.
Irbard could still not fathom what ignites Manasseh to continuously insult the leadership of the country since according to him, he ones warned the Multimedia journalist in 2016 when he slammed the then President, John Dramani Mahama over the Ford Expedition saga.
He has again cautioned him to be careful of the words he uses for President Akufo-Addo.
“Does my brother from another mother belong to a different breed of northerners, please? I cautioned him on the things he said about President John Dramani Mahama in ‘16 and I think he should be cautious the words he hair on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in ‘19 and beyond!”, he said.
