Belgium U-19 coach Jacky Mathijssen believes that with the talent and development of  Belgian born Ghanaian youngster Jeremy Doku Belgium can win the European Championships.

Belgium currently has a very strong U19 class with their coach Jacky Mathijssen believing strongly in his team and aiming high. "With 9 out of 9, a point total that probably won't reach many countries, you end up in pot 1 in the draw for the elite round," explains Mathijssen.

"There are only 7 free places for the European Championship. So you have to pass a lot of countries before you get there and that's why it is so important to be able to avoid the countries in pot 1."

Mathijssen even dreams of winning the European Championship with his youngsters.

Although he may need Anderlecht talents Jérémy Doku and Yari Verschaeren for that. The former plays with the U21, the latter even with the big boys.
