Ghana’s Jessie Manyo Plange has secured final eliminator for the WBA Bantamweight title held by Naoya Inoue.

The WBA via a letter issued to the promoters of Plange approved their request to take on Melvin Lopez.

“The Championship Committee acknowledges receipt of your request to approve the WBA Bantamweight Final Eliminator fight between Manyo Plange vs. Melvin Lopez to be held in July 2021 in USA. Please consider this letter as a tentative sanction approval of the Plange v. Lopez for WBA

Bantamweight Final Eliminator for the Super Championship of the division.” The letter read.

The former skipper of the Black Bombers, Plange (21-0-1, 17 KOs) 31, ranked number 2 by the WBA earlier was scheduled to take on Guillermo Rigondeaux but the latter declined to make a date with John Riel Casimero for a WBO and WBA secondary title unification fight in August.

The winner of the elimination fight will take on the winner of Naoya Inoue and Michael Dasmarinas.

“We just completed the promotional contract, we were told that plange vs Lopez and Inoue vs Dasmarinas fight will be on the same undercard either on the 3rd or 17th July PBC and Showtime card” Mr. Samed the local manager manage of plange said when the story broke.

This has been Planges’ dream for a long while haven sparred with Joseph Agbeko former IBF Bantamweight champion before fighting Perez, Rigondeaux, Mares etc.

Manyo Plange aka ‘The Black Flash’ will engage veteran Raymond Commey popularly known as Chorkor Banku on 1 May 2021 in a WABU Bantamweight Contest  over eight rounds at the Lebanon House in Accra.
