Ghanaian highlife legend , Jewel Ackah,  who died in his Tema Community 11 home on April 27 will be laid to rest tomorrow August 4 at Axim in the Western Region.

He battled with stroke and other ailments until his dead at the age of 73.

The prolific composer, who is remembered for songs like ‘Joyce San Bra’, ‘Abena’, ‘Dear, ‘Kyer3 Mase’, ‘Manye Yie’ , ‘Asomdwe Hehe’, ‘Bodambo Bodambo’,  will be laid to rest at  Axim in the Western Region.

Affectionately called the Prince of  Highlife, Jewel Ackah, also sang the party anthem of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

His body will be laid in state at the Tema Community 11 Complex Park on Saturday August 4 followed by burial at his hometown in the Western Region the same day.

Colleague musicians, actors and top politicians including former president, John Dramani Mahama; who was his personal friend, are expected to mourn with the family.

He left behind 11 Children.
