Jilted man kills wife

A jilted man has allegedly pulled the trigger on his wife for infidelity and abandonment, killing her instantly at Bogyesango near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

The man, Yaw Amissah, 55, was said to have broken into a house built by his wife, Abena Duah, at dawn on Monday, and shot her, after which he fled the town.

The Adansi Fomena police have mounted a search for his arrest.  A relative (name withheld) told The Ghanaian Times that the couple had been married for some years and have three children.

The source said, when the woman left the man, she built her own house where she had been leaving for the past three years.

According to the source, the man claimed the marriage had not been dissolved and accused the woman of infidelity.

Infuriated by the suspicion of infidelity, the man was said to have armed himself with as single barreled gun, gone into the house of the wife, forced open the door and killed her.

The source said the sound of the gun woke some of the neighbors who rush there only to see Yaw Amissah running out of the house with the gun in hand.

the woman was found in a pool of blood and the neighbors called the police who collected the body and deposited it at the Fomena hospital's mortuary.

Meanwhile, the entire Bogyesango community has taken the trouble upon themselves to search for Yaw Amissah, who they believed was hiding in the bushes of Ankraku or Kokorso.
