MANCHESTER City goalkeeper Joe Hart is willing to take a pay cut in order to join Liverpool after making a swansong in City's midweek Champions League victory over Steaua Bucuresti.

According to The Sun, Hart is trying to tempt Liverpool to make an offer for his services and is prepared to take a "huge pay cut" on his £150,000 weekly wage to seal a move to Anfield having been ditched by Guardiola.

Meanwhile City boss, Pep Guardiola has promised that Manchester City will do anything possible to help the out of favour English safe hands to get a new club.

"We want the best for [Hart]," said Guardiola.

"The club will help him find the best option."

The Spaniard has frozen out the England number 1 since arriving in the Premier League earlier this summer, and handed Hart what appeared to all intents and purposes to be a farewell appearance against Steaua Bucharest in midweeek.

With Claudio Bravo's arrival, Hart is free to leave the club but after Sevilla and Everton the two clubs with most significant reported interest now both ruling themselves out the chase there is a question mark over whether City will be able to shift the England keeper.
