Black Stars new boy Antoine Semenyo has disclosed that Jojo Wollacot is a very good friend and was in constant talks with him during the 2022 FIFA World  Cup play offs against Nigeria.

The 22 year old forward was born in Chelsea- England to Ghanaian parents but switched nationality to play for Ghana in March.

He was due to play for Ghana in March in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play off against Nigeria but injury delayed his debut.

Ghana piped Nigeria to the World ticket via the away goal rule after a 1-1 draw game at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Speaking in an interview with Accra based Happy FM, the new Ghana striker revealed that Wollacott is a close friend and he had conversations with him during the 2022 World Cup play offs against Nigeria.

“We are really good friends and he’s told me everything about Ghana and I am looking forward to that. He’s shared every moment with me anytime I get in touch with him during the play-off against Nigeria. Obviously, I was missing out so I was sad and frustrated but I tried to keep in contact with him everyday and see how he is doing” he said.

In October, 2021, Wollacott also born in England made his debut for Ghana in a World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe but fast forward he is the number one goalkeeper despite some initial doubts about his abilities.

The Black Stars of Ghana have been drawn in group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

They meet familiar foes Uruguay who Ghanaians have very bitter memories about after the events at the 2010 World Cup with other group members being Portugal and South Korea.
