Jordan Ayew's late winner seals Leicester City's comeback victory over Southampton

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew came off the bench to score a dramatic stoppage-time winner, helping Leicester City secure a 3-2 comeback win over Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The victory marked Leicester's first away win of the season in the English Premier League.

Southampton took a commanding 2-0 lead by halftime, with goals from Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo.

Archer struck early, converting a Ryan Manning cross in the 8th minute, and Aribo added a second in the 28th minute, finishing off a delivery from Kyle Walker-Peters.

Leicester struggled to find their rhythm early on, but the introduction of substitute Abdul Fatawu on the hour mark sparked a revival.

The Ghanaian winger played a pivotal role in Leicester's comeback, setting up Facundo Buonanotte for a close-range finish that halved the deficit.

Fatawu continued to torment Southampton's defense, nearly scoring with a shot that hit the bar before forcing a fine save from Aaron Ramsdale with a powerful header.

In the aftermath, Southampton's Ryan Fraser fouled Jamie Vardy in the box, leading to a penalty, which Vardy converted to make it 2-2. Fraser was also shown a red card for his challenge.

In a frantic ending to the match, Jordan Ayew clinched the victory for Leicester in the seventh minute of stoppage time, sending the travelling fans into a frenzy.

Ayew’s late strike capped off a stunning comeback, leaving Southampton supporters frustrated as their team let a two-goal lead slip away.

Ayew, who joined Leicester from Crystal Palace in the summer, now has two goals and an assist in his debut season with the Foxes.
