The two contenders in the KMA presiding member race are expected to step down today, Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice has reported.

The move has been triggered by the consistent failure by the two to secure two thirds majority of the votes as required by law.

So far, the three elections held between them have failed to produce a winner.

Meanwhile, Starr News has learnt that a third candidate reportedly favoured by the Manhyia palace has emerged on the scene and is expected to pick up a nomination form today.

He is however expected to face a stiff opposition from the government appointees in the assembly over suspicions that he engineered the resignation of Kojo Bonsu, the former Mayor of Kumasi.
