Award winning undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has added his voice to the overwhelming tributes paid to late former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan.

Anas tweeted Saturday that he was “deeply saddened by the death of Kofi Annan.”

“He’s always been a constant inspiration for us to go further and reach higher. Rest in peace, General,” he added.

Kofi Annan  was the first black UN Secretary General.

Mr Annan died at age 80 in Berne, Switzerland, on Saturday, 18 August 2018 after a short illness.

Kofi Annan served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006.

He was the founder and chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation, as well as chairman of The Elders, an international organization founded by Nelson Mandela.

He was survived by a wife and three children.
