Konlan and Boaduwaa shine as Black Queens win Pink Ladies Cup
6th March 2026
Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan Findib and forward Doris Boaduwaa have been recognised with top individual honours after helping the Ghana women's national football team secure victory at the Pink Ladies Cup.
Konlan was named Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, keeping two clean sheets in two matches and playing a key role in Ghana’s solid defensive display throughout the competition.
Meanwhile, Boaduwaa finished as the tournament’s Top Scorer after netting three goals, leading the Black Queens’ attacking charge during the event.
Ghana were officially crowned champions after the final against the Tanzania women's national football team was called off amid rising tensions in the Middle East linked to the conflict between the United States and Iran.
Organisers subsequently presented the trophy to the Ghanaian team at their hotel, confirming them as winners of the 2026 edition of the tournament.
The Black Queens had already delivered strong performances in the competition, recording victories over the Hong Kong women's national football team, the China women's national football team and the Russia women's national football team.
Their success not only secured the team trophy but also highlighted the individual brilliance within the squad, with Konlan’s commanding presence in goal and Boaduwaa’s clinical finishing standing out during the campaign.
The victory is expected to boost confidence within the squad as Ghana continue preparations for upcoming continental competitions.
